That Person… 那誰

Let me introduce you to one of the best Chinese songs of 2011 — William So’s 《那誰》. Not sure if many of the young adults still know about William, but hands down, he has got to be one of the best Cantonese singer in the Hong Kong industry. I think because of the downfall (or so I call it) of the Hong Kong music industry, he spent much of his time releasing Mandarin albums and promoting elsewhere. 《那誰》 is said to be the song that brought back William’s popularity to Hong Kong. This song is beautifully written all thanks to popular lyricist Wyman Wong. He is known for his popular lyrics that he had penned for many Chinese songs. I can’t express how much I am in love with the lyrics.

The song, told from a third person point of view, is about a guy who had just broken up with his lover but can’t seem to forget about her. Even after many months and days (渡日月 穿山水 ), he’s still unable to forget her. The third person tells the guy that he needs to take this as a challenge that God had given him. Wouldn’t life be so boring if it was perfect? All he needs to do now is to smile and look ahead.

Some of my favorite lines from the lyrics:

沒有恨過便更加彷似 白過半生 冷清清

她怎傷害你 可否就當做老天
完整你那 沒挫敗波折一生之旅
功德圓滿 方可愛下去
帶笑歸去

  Check out this amazing song!
